National PSP Awareness Week 2010 took place from 3 -10 April.
National PSP Awareness Week is one of the most important times of year for The PSP Association, as this is when we hold a large number of teaching workshops to educate medical and healthcare professionals, in addition to increasing pressure on the government to provide more care and attention for those affected by PSP.
During Awareness Week we also try to increase the understanding of PSP amongst the general public, and this is where you can really make a difference in your local community.
Events held across the country during Awareness Week not only bring the publicity required to increase public understanding of the disease, but also raise valuable funds for the work of the Association. The more events that are held throughout the country, the stronger our voice becomes, making it easier to influence the government and National Health Services for effective treatment and care for those living with PSP.
Afternoon Tea for PSP
It's still not too late to get involved! We are asking everyone to hold an Afternoon Tea for PSP in your local area, in order to raise funds and to raise awareness.
We have created a simple step-by-step guide to planning your Tea Party and it really couldn't be easier. You can organise a big event or a small gathering; invite friends to your home or book a large venue and advertise your party to the wider community... but, whatever you choose, each party will make a huge difference to what The PSP Association can achieve.

We will be on hand to offer you all the materials and support you need to make your Afternoon Tea party an enjoyable and successful event.
As well as fundraising advice, we can offer guidance on how to contact influential people in your area. These could be local MPs, councillors or health officials who can really make a difference to those living with PSP and CBD in the local community. We can also offer guidance on ways to contact your local press to get your story heard.
